Dimple Yadav is an Indian politician who was born on January 15, 1978.She is the 2nd daughter amongst three daughters born to now retired Army colonel Shri R.C.S Rawat and his wife Champa Rawat. Her parents originally belonged to Uttrakhand.
She started her education from Army Public School in Lucknow and later on attended other schools situated at Pune, Bathinda and Andaman & Nicobar islands. She got her Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from LUMBA, Lucknow.
When Dimple Yadav was a student she met Akhilesh Yadav in one birthday party of their mutual friends. After that Akhilesh went to the abroad for his further studies but they remained connected and fell in love with each other. Initially Akhilesh Yadav’s family was against their marriage but eventually agreed after Akhilesh Yadav’s grandmother Murti Devi gave her blessings to the couple. They got married when she was 21 . Many celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna attended their wedding. The couple have been blessed with two girls and a boy .
After being married in a political family Dimple Yadav represented Kannauj in the Parliament for two terms as a member of Samajwadi Party. She is the wife of Shri Akhilesh Yadav, President of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Her fathter-in-law Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav, was former defense minister of India and founder patron of Samajwadi Party.
Dimple Yadav is two times member of parliament from Kannauj representing Samajwadi Party and 44th person ever to win a seat in Lok Sabha uncontested. . The first victory was in 2012 when her husband Akhilesh Yadav resigned from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat to became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. However the success was preceded by bitter lesson in the electoral politics. She could however manage to keep her seat in the 2014 despite the Modi’s wave.
In loksabha elections of 2019 the only 5 Samajwadi Party candidates were lucky to win their parliamentary seats. Subrat pathak of bjp got the kannauj seat.
But Dimple Yadav is still very popular because of her kindness and wisdom. She is much like a true “Bahu and Bhabhi”, an image that she has actively nurtured over last 2 years. Thus she became the best combination ever of beauty and brain.
